APPLICATIONS:
Watering - Add ordinary water to a nutrient tank or watering can. Then add silicon at a rate of 1mL/L. Before adding the nutrient, reduce the pH to just below 7, then add your additives and nutrients. Repeat the method of changing/filling the tank. Use throughout the growing season.

Silicon is often overlooked in many supplements, but the wide range of benefits it can facilitate makes it essential in our opinion. Silicon isn't exactly a nutrient, as your plants don't consume it as a food source - but it does penetrate the plant's structure through the nutrient solution and provides the plant with numerous structural benefits.

POWERFUL PLANTS
Including silicon in the requirement means that your plant can incorporate the element into its cell walls. Multiply this effect in every cell of the plant, and you can easily see how adding it can increase longevity, strength and physical resistance to disease and pests. It won't "definitely" protect your plants from all potential problems, but it increases resistance to heat stress and pest invasion, and reduces the likelihood that rot or mold will actually get into your plant and cause problems.

SILICIC ACID
Silicic acid is a weak acid that is formed when Shogun Silicon dissolves in water. It occurs in solutions with a pH below 7. Above 7, it dissociates into a silicate anion, which can react with calcium and magnesium, causing the nutrient solution to become cloudy (see below for the importance of proper mixing!). Stable silicic acid in the medium can have many positive effects....

PROPER MIXING IS ESSENTIAL!
If you want to see all the benefits that SHOGUN Silicon can offer, it is essential to mix the solution correctly (following the mixing instructions above). If you don't follow this order - for example, if you first add nutrients to the tank and then SHOGUN concentrated silicon without adjusting the pH, a cloud of cloudy liquid will appear when the silicon is added. This will dissipate quickly, but you have immediately lost some of the benefits of silicic acid (above) and caused some of the calcium and magnesium in the solution to precipitate and "drop out" of solution. This is not a great idea and can be avoided very easily by adding Silicon FIRST to plain water and then adjusting the pH below 7 before adding nutrients. The key point to recognize is that the pH must not exceed 7 when silicon and nutrients come into contact. Follow this golden rule and your benefits from SHOGUN Silicon will remain maximized.
