Hydrogel is sodium polyacrylate, a substance that ideally absorbs water and water-based substances. It is ideal as a store of water and nutrients for plants, both during drought and when we do not water plants for a long time.
Hydrogel is suitable for both large-scale cultivation and home use, such as for potted plants or for home greenhouses and lawns. Hydrogel is a nice solution for our plants if we travel a lot or don't have much time to work in the garden.
Hydrogel can be applied in dry form directly to the substrate, or in wet form, when it already binds water together - you should then dip the roots of the plant in the resulting gel. When applying hydrogel topically, it is recommended to use 1 kg per 1 m3 of soil. For potted plants, it is recommended to use about 1 gram of hydrogel per 1 liter of soil. In addition to use during planting, hydrogel can be used to protect plants for travel with an exposed root system.
