MAINTENANCE
EC electrodes can accumulate nutrients on themselves over time.
EC electrodes can accumulate nutrients on themselves over time.
To minimize buildup, always rinse the probe with fresh tap water after each use.
CONVERSION OF READING FROM EC TO TDS
CONVERSION OF READING FROM EC TO TDS
The Milwaukee PRO conductivity tester, like all conductivity meters, provides a measurement of electrically charged ions in solution and is an absolute measure of conductivity.
Inhydroponics, EC is often converted to TDS in parts per million (ppm). Various scales include the 500 scale, the 650 scale and the 700 scale. However, the true PPM can only be determined by chemical analysis.
Readings in mS/cm can be roughly converted to TDS (ppm), as shown in the following examples.
2.00
Readings in mS/cm can be roughly converted to TDS (ppm), as shown in the following examples.
2.00
= 2,000 uS/cm = 1,000 ppm on a factor scale of 0.50
.00 mS/cm = 2,000 uS/cm = 1,400 ppm on a 442 or factor scale of 0.70
