Silicone is a beneficial plant nutrient found in virtually all natural soils. Silicone will strengthen plant cell walls, producing stronger plants with massive root systems and increased resistance to pests and disease. Liquid silicon is highly beneficial to plants in the range of 20-50 ppm in nutrient solution. It does not and cannot be included, at these levels, in nutrient concentrates. It must be added as a separate ingredient by the grower.

Liquid Silicon can be added to nutrient tanks each time a new batch is produced. Liquid silicon plays an important role in the uptake and transport of mineral nutrient vessels and can significantly improve the mechanical "strength" of the plant and its resistance to fungal diseases. Adding liquid silicon to nutrient solutions can significantly reduce the incidence and severity of fungal diseases, including Botrytis (budworm) and canola powdery mildew.

Recent studies have shown that increasing the concentration of silicon in hydroponic solutions resulted in thicker, whiter, healthier root systems and increased yields. Silicon has also been shown to cause a higher concentration of chlorophyll per unit tissue area of leaves. This means that the plant is able to tolerate both lower and higher light levels, using more of the available light.

Liquid silicon - like ALL silicon products - has a high pH and can therefore be used effectively to raise the pH of hydroponic nutrient solutions.

Dosage:

As a supplement: 1ml per 2 liters in soft water areas. Dilute in fresh clean water, add to the nutrient solution tank or container and mix thoroughly. Check and adjust the pH to the desired level using Growth Technology's pH DOWN agent.

As a way to adjust the pH: Add to the nutrient solution container to increase the pH, if necessary. Dilute in fresh clean water and add very small amounts until the desired pH value is reached.
